HANSEartWORKS exhibition “Hanseatic New Gold”
at the Riga Exhibition Hall "Riga Art Space"
20.08.-19.09.2021

In 2021, the 41st International Hanseatic Days will take place in Riga, where an art exhibition with the message “Hanseatic New Gold” will be organized for the fifteenth time within the framework of the project “HANSEartWORKS”.
The exhibition "Hanseatic New Gold" will focus on the values of modern and historical Hanseatic cities to talk about the new values of modern Hanseatic cities, the importance of their contacts and communication. Trade, as a unifying link, has always meant mutual communication, negotiation and various forms of mutual agreement, both in ancient times and today.
With their works, the artists will create a dialogue of the symbols of the image of the Hanseatic cities today in order to reveal common, modern and human values and reflect on the values we can offer today instead of gold.
The modern images and symbols of the Hanseatic cities could bring to life our common, modern and human transnational values and allow seeing the Hanseatic League in a new light. The aim of the exhibition is to promote creativity, to summarize the different and unifying vision of the Hanseatic values today.

Artists from all Hanseatic cities can submit works for the HANSEartWORKS exhibition “Hanseatic New Gold” by submitting an application and sketches of the work concepts. The application and sketches of the work concept must be submitted to the jury for evaluation by January 15, 2021.

On August 20, 2021, the exhibition “Hanseatic New Gold” will be opened in the Riga Exhibition Hall “Riga Art Space”, where it will be possible to see the newly created works of art.
